With the Beatles (1963) Album Review

The Beatles release was second British album With The Beatles. After Yellow Submarine (which only 4 new Beatles songs included) I would say it is probably the least important Beatles album, but that does not mean it's bad. I think the 8 original compositions are a bit of a step from the originals to 8 Please Please Me (some of which have a somewhat meager), but this is said, it's just a small step forward. It's the next album, 1964's A Hard Day's Night "that really pushesAdvance things in a big way.

The album opens strong with 5 originals (especially the first 3), the first of George Harrison (Track 4 "Do not Bother Me"), but then it starts to lose steam to come in the ceiling so I think it covers the that really this album in. They are just not very interesting and in most (perhaps all?) Cases that are not as good as the original. That being said, I rather enjoy their versions of "Money" and "You Really Got A HoldOn Me, "which are included on this album. In fact," You Really Got A Hold On Me "is pretty good.

"Hold Me Tight" is pretty catchy, but it's a bit too cute for it's own good. It would be easy to understand why it was left out Please Please Me, except that they are songs like "Do You Want To Know A Secret?" so that they may not completely anti-cute.

"Little Child" is one of the worst of Lennon-McCartney originals they ever recorded, in fact I quite prefer Harrison's debutthis right before "Do not Bother Me," not that there is a world-bat either.

As already mentioned, it is the first three songs that really make the half-decent album It, "Will not Be Long," "All I Got To Do" and "All My Loving" are all good songs, and "All My Loving" was probably the best composition to date.

I also enjoy "Not a Second Time" (Track 13).
